Greenland Kayak Rolling — Competition Archive
1987–2026 566 athletes 779 results
This is the results archive for Kinngusaqattaarneq, the Greenland National Kayak Rolling Championship, initially held bianually since 1987, nowadays anually. It's built from decades of hand-recorded competition sheets — carefully reconstructed and corrected (misspelled names, married names, misfiled years and all) so the whole history finally lives in one place instead of a stack of spreadsheets.
A few things worth knowing as you browse:
- Score vs. Rank — Score is the judged points for a roll attempt; Rank is that year's finish position. A handful of historical entries were disqualified or exhibition-only; those show as a note instead of a number.
- Age group — Brackets come straight from that year's actual competition rules, which have changed more than once since 1987, so the labels aren't on one consistent scale across all years.
- Tuilik — The gear an athlete rolled in, modern neoprene or the traditional sealskin tuilik. It has nothing to do with nationality. Note that international competitors most often use a neoprene tuilik, which helps with rolling and their score. It's only called out here for standout, high-scoring results — otherwise assume Greenlandic competitors used sealskin and international competitors used neoprene, though there are exceptions and the record isn't complete enough to spell out every one.
- Team vs. country — Team is the town or club an athlete represented that year, which can change as people move. The flag icon next to their name reflects their actual country of origin instead.
- Leaderboards — Highest score, most competitions, most golds, lifetime total, and average per year are all calculated live from the results below, so they're always in sync — no more re-tallying by hand.
